Intellectual Property
The field of Intellectual Property is made up of three sub-fields: Copyright, Patent, and Trademark. All of these offer protection for intellectual property. There are some similarities, but for the most part each is designed to protect a certain attribute and in that respect each sub-field is very different. There is often interaction between and an overlapping of these fields because many times an owner of intellectual property may choose more that one to protect different aspects of their intellectual property.
